Nachdem wir gestern die bekannten Felszeichnungen angeschaut hatten, stand heute ein Game-Drive zu dem \u201cW\u00fcsten-Elefanten\u201d auf dem Programm. Die morgendlichen Temperaturen lagen bereits in einer Region, wo in der Schweiz von einem hei\u00dfen Tag geredet wird. Ein fr\u00fcher Start war deshalb von gro\u00dfem Vorteil und so ging es bereits um 06:30 los.<\/p>\n<p>Zuerst gibt es aber noch einen Blick vom Swimming Pool aus in die naheliegenden H\u00fcgel. Unser Guide, Max, erkl\u00e4rte uns, dass vom Camp aus zwei verschiedene Elefantenfamilien beobachtet werden k\u00f6nnen. Sie bestehen jeweils aus 13-15 Elefanten und bewegen sich in einer Region, die etwa 20 Kilometer n\u00f6rdlicher vom Camp liegt. Immer wieder hielt Max an und inspizierte die Fuss-Spuren auf der Strasse. Es war sogar f\u00fcr ein totales Greenhorn klar, dass die Abdr\u00fccke nur von einem Elefanten stammen konnten. Allerdings waren die Spuren mehr als einen Tag alt, sodass dadurch nur der ungef\u00e4hre Aufenthaltsort bestimmt werden konnte. Denn obwohl die Bewegung von Elefanten sehr langsam aussieht, k\u00f6nnen sie locker 20 oder mehr Kilometer an einem Tag zur\u00fccklegen. Ok, das wird schwierig, war der erste Gedanke, denn es war weit und breit keine Strasse in die Richtung der Dickh\u00e4uter sichtbar und die Bodenbeschaffenheit dorthin konnte man als mittleres Ger\u00f6llfeld bezeichnen. Nun kam abermals die Stunde von Max und seinem Toyota. Sein Moto war: \u201cNichts ist unm\u00f6glich mit meinem Toyota\u201d. Auf seine Worte folgten Taten. Taten, die auch den letzten von uns aus dem Schlaf r\u00fcttelten. Wir konnten uns nur noch festhalten und staunen, was man mit einem Gel\u00e4ndefahrzeug wirklich machen kann. Spitze Steine, kein Hindernis, ein ausgetrockneter Bach, ebenfalls nicht. Oder ein h\u00e4ngengebliebener Baum. Ich hatte zwar schon diverse Begegnungen mit Elefanten. Sie waren (mit wenigen Ausnahmen) auch alle friedlich, aber die Elefanten nahem zumindest Notiz beim Herannahen des Fahrzeugs. Hier wurden die Fahrzeuge komplett ignoriert. Selbst das ohrenbet\u00e4ubende Quietschen der Fahrzeugfederung wurde komplett ignoriert. Deshalb stand eine Siesta auf dem Programm, gefolgt von Relaxing und Entspannen. Als Fotograf muss man diese Zeit nat\u00fcrlich f\u00fcr produktive Arbeiten \u201cmissbrauchen\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>#ing22# <\/p>\n<p>Und schliesslich kam, was einfach unvermeidlich ist: Ein Gin Tonic zum perfekten Sonnenuntergang.
